Standards for Personal and Social Readiness
A student who is personally and socially ready will know how to conduct him or herself in an academic environment and is able to maintain positive relationships with peers and adults.
The Ramp-Up to Readiness Standards for personal and social readiness will ensure that key steps toward this goal are met in each year of the Ramp-Up program.
- Level 1: Understand
-
The student understands that goal setting, self-management, persistence, and building positive relationships with peers and adults are essential to college success and knows his or her strengths and weaknesses in these areas.
- Level 2: Believe
-
The student believes that with effort and support he or she can set and achieve goals, manage his or her own learning activities, persist through challenges, and build positive relationships with peers and adults.
- Level 3: Plan
-
The student creates a personal/social plan that includes steps to self-manage, persist in the face of challenges, and build supportive relationships in order to meet his or her college and career goals.
- Level 4: Achieve

The student self-monitors the process of applying to postsecondary institutions and adjusts plans and actions to complete all requirements in full and on time. 3.
